This book is the first book in the Guardians of Time Trilogy. This book focuses on Ethan and Isabel. Ethan has been a member of the guard since he was four. The members of the guard aren't usually initiated this early but Ethan was a special situation. He had just witnessed his older sister Sera murdered by a monster. He was losing his insanity and to keep him from losing his mind he was initiated into the guard early. Isabel is a new member of the guard. One morning when she cut herself deeply she healed herself. She thought she had just imagined it but when Ethan moves a pencil in history class Isabel realizes that her life will never be the same again.
