The Blue Nuns
I go to church at St. Martins on Hwy 81. There is a legend that in the really big blizzard in Owensboro that there were a few nuns that stayed at the church. During the blizzard the people around the church couldn't get out to check on the nuns a all because they were snowed in themselves. This blizzard lasted 30 days. When people were finally able to get out of their house they went to go check on the nuns. When they found them they weren't alive anymore, they were dead and blue. After the burial people who stayed late started to hear strange things in the church. They heard humming and saw strange blue lights and blue outline of people. They were a little frightened but figured it was just the two nuns who still felt that there work was undone in this world. One night a couple of kids broke into the church to steal the collection and donation money that the church got that day. It just so happened that someone was passing by the church when they started to hear screaming and saw wildly flashing blue lights. The person ran into the church to see what was going on. Right when he came in he saw the two boys dead and blue. He also saw two blue outlines of nuns floating above the dead bodies. When they turned to look at him he froze in fear. But apparently they knew that he meant no harm and just moved right pass him. When the man went to look at the dead bodies he saw whey they were blue. They had frozen to death with the money still in there hands with looks of horror on their face.
